Background
SPAR Freshline needed to be clearly differentiated within SPAR stores and promotional environments, while highlighting the functional benefits of its ready-to-use fresh food range. The brand’s challenge was to move beyond price-led leaflet messaging and build stronger consideration and usage by positioning Freshline as a reliable solution for everyday meal preparation.
The objective was to support promotional activity with content that created appetite, relevance, and confidence in the brand.

The Insight
Consumers value convenience, but peace of mind is what drives repeat use. Shoppers want reassurance that they can prepare quality meals quickly, without compromising on freshness or taste.
Using PAMS data and Caxton’s audience research panel, survey and pulse research showed that SPAR shoppers were regular, habitual customers whose lifestyles were closely tied to family routines, seasonal occasions, and practical meal planning.

The Idea & Execution
An always-on, content-led campaign that positioned SPAR Freshline as the quiet enabler of everyday and seasonal meals. The strategy used recipe-led storytelling to create craving, inspire usage, and drive trial of hero products featured in promotional leaflets.
Execution included editorial-style advertorials, digitorial content, newsletters, and social media, built around seasonal themes and occasions. Hero products from in-store promotions were integrated into recipes and content narratives, ensuring consistency between retail messaging and brand storytelling. Content was tailored across multiple magazine titles based on audience context, supported by trend insights from editorial teams and Google Trends.

The Results
The campaign successfully embedded SPAR Freshline into everyday meal planning, supporting sustained consideration and repeat use. The always-on approach allowed the brand to remain relevant across seasons while reinforcing its core promise of peace of mind through quality and convenience.
